Whether during your stay or as a souvenir to take with you, Lake Garda can also be discovered through taste, capable of providing authentic and indelible emotions. White, rosé, and red wines go perfectly with lake fish dishes, mature cheeses and local cured meats, satisfying every palate. The scents of the Mediterranean can be found in citrus fruits, olives and capers, while the inland hills offer delicacies such as saffron. And to end on a sweet note, there is no shortage of local specialities: the fluffy Torta Maderno, the scenic Torta di Rose and the typical spirits, an expression of the area's traditional craftsmanship.

Local flavours
Traditions to savour, from the lake to the mountains.
Lake Garda is a land to savour, where every product tells a story. The freshwater fish such as whitefish, pike and perch arrive fresh from the local fishermen, who cast their nets at dawn as their grandparents did. The cheeses smell of pastures and craftsmanship: from Tombea di Magasa to Formagella di Tremosine to Grana Padano. The salumi guard ancient knowledge, such as the Salame Morenico di Pozzolengo, fruit of an ideal microclimate. There is no shortage of sugar notes from the historic lemon houses and the precious Garda DOP oil, with its delicate, enveloping flavour. Capperi, saffron, tartufo and honey enrich each dish with unique aromas, while the Val Vestino beans bring back ancient flavours. To conclude, traditional sweets such as Torta di Rose, Spongadì and Saltarelle tell of a genuine territory, rich in memory and passion.
Wines and Spirits
Tradition to savour, amid vineyards and citrus fruits.
Between Salò and Pozzolengo, wines are born that tell the story of the territory: fresh whites such as Lugana DOC and San Martino della Battaglia, ruby reds such as Riviera del Garda Classico and the typical chiaretto, ideal with fish. Alongside wine, distilled spirits also have deep roots: local grappas such as vinacce di Lugana or the historic grappa from Tignale, known as Rugiada delle Alpi. The lemon groves produce limoncino and lemon cream, sweet and fragrant expressions of the lake.
